We used Baileys for our move from VA to Logan Utah, Over all, it was good experience, the people were nice and very helpful, they asked questions if they were unsure and the packers did a wonderful job. Cyndi in Salt Lake did a great job coordinating everything. We did have a couple of glitches, but that can be expected. so far all issues have been handled professionally and expeditiously.
Worst military move yet. First off, the packers were understaffed and inexperienced. Second day on the job for one, a only a few weeks for the so-called "Foreman". It took them over 11 hours just to pack and they didn't inventory more than 9 boxes! They forgot the wardrobe bars, so they folded our hang up clothes and "placed them neatly in boxes with paper in between". Not how it looked when we opened them! My husband's military uniforms were stuffed in a 4.5 box, labelled pro gear and are completely wrinkled! Lucky we even found them. This was not the only box missed labelled...we found all kinds of baby gear and board games labelled "Holiday Decor". Very frustrating and made unpacking terribly slow and disorganized. They also left random things just sitting in each room- a lamp shade, a box of wedding keepsakes, the humdifier, etc. This stuff ended up in a random box, and just thrown on the truck the 2nd day. Now fast forward to the second day, the loading guys show up from Bailey's. We asked repeatedly for them to put certain things on the high value inventory list. Our video camera never made it on the HV list, nor did it make it on the inventory list. We received the original box it was packed in...but lo and behold, the camera was gone. How can we claim that since it wasn't on the inventory list? Also, they were TERRIBLE about putting parts in the parts box or just keeping the parts with the original item. We went around the house later, picking up random pins and screws to try and figure out where they belonged later! They used OUR personal dollie to load stuff onto the stuff, and then, again, didn't put it on the inventory list. So, it never showed up at our house! They were so frazzled and rushed by the end of the 2nd 11+ hour day, they were just trying to get out of there. There was no time to check for every little thing on the inventory list and now we are missing a HD video camera, a dollie, and countless little things. The people were generally polite and friendly, but you could tell it was first time on the job for so many of them. The workers were frustrated to be so understaffed. Just gonna say it again, worst move yet!
Bailey's did a great job with my move, even coordinating the pieces that were in states out of their normal jurisdiction. The movers arrived promptly on time, and while there was a slight mixup with the boxes they brought, they took extra care packing my things (especially the glass breakables) and packed both efficiently and well. Both employees were friendly and had my stuff from where it was to on the truck in under 4 hours time. Great experience, best move yet! They even did a great job managing the local delivery crews, and everything was there, aside from one screw to my TV stand, which is especially impressive considering how many loose, large, and awkward items I own. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again if they were in my area.
Bailey's moved me in May 2014. The guys were prompt and efficient and worked really hard. They took extreme care of both houses and all of my belongings, including some big furniture pieces and a piano. All of the boxes even ended up in the right rooms! They were among the most polite people I have met. I have a second move coming up of some additional items and I am looking forward to having the same team move me again. My experience was great from start to finish. Their final bill was 10% lower than their initial estimate. The estimating process was fast and efficient as well. Moving is normally a stressful thing to do and Bailey's really made it much easier. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
George, you are an amazing! Having just completed the move with George, I was so grateful to him as a driver and loader. He was extremely professional and he was very knowledgeable. He was personally concerned for our needs and the needs of my wife. He took great concern for all our belongings and wasn't willing to take any shortcuts. He was very accurate in his estimations of size and time. He was very professional and was safe all the time. Thank you George! you made this a 10+ move for our family. If you are moving, don't pass up Bailey's Moving & Storage, Cindy and Hal will take care of you and they will followup to make sure that you are well taken care of! Thank you Bailey's!
We had a great experience with Bailey's! We moved cross country and our driver always kept us posted as to where he was and what to expect. The movers took great care of our stuff, NOTHING was damaged or broken. We would definitely use Bailey's again!
We were so impressed with Bailey's--with Cyndi, who handled the bidding and account; Noreen, who managed the packing day; and Clawson, who managed the loading day. We are moving to Australia--a gigantic and intimidating move. I collected bids from three movers and Bailey's was not only a good deal financially, but had a better insurance offering through Allied. The crews who came to our house were hands-down the best movers we've ever had. They were careful, thorough, hard-working, and friendly. They wrapped our stuff with extraordinary care (of course, we haven't received it on the other end yet, so I can't give the final verdict on how well it was all protected). The last time we had movers, they left a mess of empty tape rolls, scraps of paper, box fragments... and left items in our drawers and closets that we had to move ourselves. These guys cleaned up their mess entirely, did several walk-throughs to survey for missed items, and were generally 100% professional. The packing-day crew made an onsite decision that we needed a smaller container (20') than we'd been quoted, so that's what they brought the next day. For a while, it looked like they'd made the wrong call; it seemed like our stuff would never fit. But with a little reorienting of some boxes at the end, they got every last piece in, fit snugly, doors closing with not an extra inch to spare. This saved us up to $3,000 by putting us in the smaller container. I was very grateful to them and impressed with their professional knowledge and skills. Seriously, I've never had a better move or crew of movers. I've had some real nightmare moves, and then your standard "adequate" ones. These guys were phenomenal. Ask for one of Clawson's crews if you can!!
After hearing several horror stories of people using moving companies to move their families, we had a great experience with Bailey's! The packers were courteous, thorough, and very careful with our things. The movers were the same! They all did a great job, asking lots of questions along the way to make sure they got things right. We were very impressed and would definitely use Bailey's again!
Bailey's team of four under direction of Antonio did a very professional job of bubble wraping all my three Remingtion museum pieces, then wrapping them further in padded blankets, then carefully lifting them from the base into boxes. ( One piece weighed over 300 pounds.) These were rolled to the truck, hoisted into the back, and secured to the front wall to prevent any sliding. They arrived pretty close to on time at my house. The delivery from Niwot. Co. to S. Alton Way in Centennial, Co. was wright on schedule. My clients who purchased these items were very pleased since there was ZERO DAMAGE to these art Pieces. One was Remington's "Coming Thru The Rye"; one was Remingtons "Mountain Man"; and the other was his "Cheyenne", all action Bronzes. All were very valuable Museum Pieces that required special care in the move. Baileys did an outstanding, very professional, very careful job on this move. sincerely, Edward F. Altman. Jr.
Very personable movers. They had to bring heavy, heavy furniture up a set of stairs. They did not complain once (knowing they are going to have to move it back down those same stairs). All paperwork was in order. I received a bid via email. I was contacted prior to the day for reminder. The movers were very nice and professional. I was billed via email which is very conveniant.
Extremely polite and professional in both pickup and delivery of my furnishings from Salt Lake City to Columbus, Ohio. Very good follow-up and communications. I highly recommend Bailey’s Moving and Storage .
I would have given 0 star if I could for this review. My moving experience with Bailey's is the most horrible one I have ever had. Cindy, who is the associate at Bailey's, worked on my moving case and is rude, irresponsible and a liar. I moved from the west coast to Salt Lake City last summer. The initial promised time was two weeks. By the day my household should be delivered, I got a call from Cindy and was told that they never found a driver to leave the west coast. Then it happened so many times that Cindy said they found a driver and my household was leaving but it turned out that she was lying every time. I ended up staying in the hotel for 5 weeks, which was extremely frustrating. Bailey’s did pay my extra hotel staying according to the contract but the coordination by Cindy was the worst. I have been kicked out by the hotel once because Cindy didn’t reserve the hotel properly and I had to switch to another hotel. I don’t understand why but my household was splited in two trucks and finally arrived a week apart so I know that they moved my household from one truck to another at some time point, which resulted in multiple damages. At the end, the packing of some of my furniture including my mattress which worth about $2400 was broken. When the movers finally, they are not professional. Just like other reviewers mentioned, they asked for water and sat on my expensive sofa during their break, which made me very uncomfortable. So my advice is NEVER use Bailey’s!!!!!!
We just moved from Charleston, SC to Salt Lake City, UT using Bailey's Moving and Storage! From the estimator representing the agent in Charleston to the day our belongings were delivered here in Utah...the entire experience was top notch! A special thanks to Cyndi at Bailey's in Salt Lake City as she was our move coordinator and kept in close contact with us throughout the entire process - she even called us from home on Saturday to confirm all was going well with our delivery that day! The driver, Sal was new to Bailey's and really awesome too! He kept in touch with us during the drive out to ensure we knew the ETA and took really good care of our stuff. The movers took extra care of our furniture..wrapping every piece in blankets and shrink wrap too! Everything arrived in excellent shape! You won't be disappointed with this top-notch act! Thank you Bailey's!
We moved from Johannesburg, South Africa to Salt Lake City, UT. The move was made easy by competent, helpful and willing staff on both ends of the move. Goods were well packed and arrived after a 2 month journey, in good condition. Consider the fact that the container was transported by road, rail and ocean this is excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to reccommend Baileys Allied for long distance moves.
We moved from South Weber, UT to Norman, OK and shipped a car. The movers that came were excellent. Communication was great. The car arrived exactly as expected. The household belongings arrived safe and all accounted for and within the time frame given; however, it arrived at the end of the time frame. Excellent service at both ends and 100% satisfied. I definitely recommend Bailey's Moving and Storage.
My daughter moved from Memphis to Salt Lake City. The move included the shipment of her car. The actual packers and movers were exceptional. A huge thank-you to Eric for an outstanding job and great customer service. Cindy did a fantastic job organizing everything and keeping us informed. The car took a bit longer than we thought it would be it did arrive safe and sound. Bailey's offered to pay for a rental if it had arrived the day it actual did. I would highly recommend this company. part 2 january 2016 two years later Bailey's moved my daughter from Memphis to Salt Lake City 2 years ago. When it was time for her to move back to Memphis, Bailey's was our first and then only call to a moving company. They are exceptional. The move itself was well done. They packed, loaded, transported, and then unloaded. They also took care of shipping my daughter's car. Communications with our Bailey's representative could not have been better. All phone calls and emails were answered quickly. Have no doubt, Bailey's will do a good job. They will take care of your stuff and communication is great. Cyndi was our contact for both moves. I can't say enough good things about her. She is s fabulous.
We moved locally and had an absolute great experience in the middle of a blizzard. The move was two days due to the weather. Kudos to Armando and Cindy for staying on top of a difficult move. Thank you to the entire Bailey's team! HJ & Jennifer Nicholas
The ppl are very nice and I appreciated that I was treated very good. The truckers coming in and out drove me nuts cuz they jammed the place up and didn't care. I thank u for the coffee and have a safe and wonderful holiday to all. Maybe next time Dirk would have time to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee with me.
STOLEN ITEMS!!! Missing my guitar, tools, sporting equipment and more which they never wrote on the inventory sheets so I can't prove they took it. Brand new top load washer looked as if a bus hit it. Newborn daughter's new furniture that I assembled was scratched and dented REAL BAD. They wrote the condition of everything was DAMAGED to take the heat off of them when we made a claim.
Moved from Murray, Utah to Kaysville, Utah. Moving crew was excellent. Took care of our household items - and worked hard. It was an excellent experience. I will never move without using a professional moving company again! Thank you.
Watch them like a Hawk!!! My wife's employer paid for our move so that was the only good thing about the move. Bailey's subcontracts about everything. What to expected: Packers come a day or 2 before the loaders (paid by the hour so don't expect fast work) (subcontracted), loaders put things into truck #1 (day laborers mostly not professionals), everything is then repacked into truck #2, truck #2 will make stops along its route so don't expect a fast turnaround, truck #2 arrives to your house where the driver uses another subcontract of day laborers to help move items into your house. Yes. There is "insurance" to cover damages but that consists of Allied using a subcontractor to make repairs. In my case, 3 bookcases were badly damaged, our wood crib got badly scratched up and then our new mattress has a large oil stain on it. The have subcontracted a woodworker to repair the bookcases and refinish the crib. Somehow this person is also qualified to remove the oil stain too. We moved the last week of June and submitted our claim August first (once we had a chance to evaluate everything). Here I am in January with nothing fixed to date. Our woodworking subcontractor is never on time to appointments or constantly reschedules. I may come back to talk about how the work was done (if it ever gets done). In short don't expect for items to get replaced. In my opinion, it will cost Allied more to pay a woodworker to do the repair and refinish the stain than to buy new bookcases. You also have to play the "this is what we will cover/not cover" game with them even though they caused all of the damage. I had a furniture drawer which had a piece of laminate come off and they would not cover it. Half of the problem of the damages is that the loaders do not use packaging wrap and the loaders basically put your stuff into truck #1 as fast as possible because they know that everything will have to come out and put into truck #2. I actually package wrapped one of my 4 bookcases. I thought that as "professionals" they would do the same. They did not. If we ever had to pay for our own move, I would not recommend Bailey's. I also second what the July 9, 2009 reviewer said about trying to get in touch with them (it is VERY difficult). The only bright spot was the driver (Kevin) of Truck #2. He was very professional and would ask for him specifically if you do have to end up using Bailey's.
